Beat the Heat: Your Perfect Weekend at Grapevine Lake

As the thermometer climbs toward triple digits this July 18-19, there is no better way to stay cool than out on the sparkling waters of Grapevine Lake. With the heat index expected to hit 102 degrees on Saturday, our jet skis provide the refreshing breeze and high-energy excitement you need to beat the Texas summer sun. The lake is currently sitting at 100 percent capacity, and with surface temperatures hovering in the mid-to-upper 80s, the water conditions are perfect for a full weekend of action. Whether you are looking for a high-speed adventure or a relaxing ride across the reservoir, conditions remain excellent for all boating activities. As always, please remember to practice the Clean, Drain, and Dry method to protect our lake from invasive zebra mussels. Grapevine is buzzing with activity this weekend, from the Wellness Expo at the Convention Center to the family-friendly Dinos on the Tracks excursions with the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. If you are catching a show at the Palace Theatre to see the Stevie Nicks or Bob Seger tributes, or perhaps heading to the grand opening of the new Dig World attraction at Grapevine Mills, make sure to carve out time for some lake time. While the local news cycle has been busy this week with updates on historical investigations and the community honoring local legends like the late aviation pioneer Wally Funk, the most important news for your weekend is that the water is waiting for you. We know it will be hot, so please remember to prioritize your hydration and sun protection while you enjoy the southern breezes on the lake. With public ramps at Meadowmere, Oak Grove, and Katie’s Woods all fully open, getting onto the water has never been easier. Do not let the heat keep you indoors when the lake is at its peak beauty.
