Beat the Record Heat with an Adventure on Grapevine Lake

As we move through mid-September 2026, North Texas is experiencing a historic stretch of weather. With recent reports confirming this has been the warmest summer on record across the Lower 48, the current heat dome is keeping our thermometers hovering between 99 and 104 degrees. While the land feels the pressure of these triple-digit highs and heat indices climbing as high as 110 degrees, the experience on Grapevine Lake tells a different story. If you are looking for the ultimate escape from the sweltering heat, Rentable Recreation at Meadowmere Park is your go-to destination for cooling off. The lake is currently sitting at a healthy 92.9 percent capacity, and the surface water temperature is a refreshing 78 degrees, providing the perfect playground for a high-speed jet ski session. You can count on mostly sunny skies and steady south-to-southeast breezes, which offer a welcome relief while you are out on the open water. While the conditions are ideal for boating and water sports, please remember to prioritize your safety by staying hydrated and applying plenty of sun protection throughout the day. It is an exciting time to be in Grapevine, with the local Margarita Festival and the Texas Latino Pride Festival bringing plenty of energy to the area. Whether you are planning a weekend of festival hopping in town or looking for a way to stay active during these record-breaking temperatures, starting your day on the water is the best decision you can make. The breeze on the lake is exactly what you need to handle the heat index, and our fleet is ready to get you out on the waves. We advise all riders to keep an eye on the water and be mindful of the lake levels as you explore our beautiful shoreline. Do not let the heat keep you indoors when you could be carving through the water.
